It is long past time for someone in the shithole known as Washington to tell us why Americans have been killing and dying in Afghanistan for 17 years. Is it to steal the country’s minerals? Is it to control the location of pipelines? Is it to keep American taxpayers money flowing to the US military/security complex? Is it to finance the CIA’s black operations with drug profits? Or is it to prove that the neoconservatives’ dream of US world hegemony is a chimera?

From the standpoint of the #MeToo movement, the wrong country was banned from the Olympics. It should have been the US, not Russia. Heroin Addiction in America Spearheaded by the US-led War on Afghanistan

By 2001 the Taliban in Afghanistan had reduced opium production by 97 percent. As a result of Washington’s invasion, opium production jumped from 185 tons to 9,000 tons. It is this supply that fuels the massive increase in heroin addiction in the US. We owe America’s heroin addiction to the Bush/Cheney/Neoconservative illegal invasion of Afghanistan. This is not something that Trump told us in his State of the Union speech.
