While Breitbart has warned of war 'against' Trump - should he break from the policies upon which he was elected - former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has spoken for the first time since being fired today.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Bannon said he was "going to war" for Trump...

“If there’s any confusion out there, let me clear it up.

 

I’m leaving the White House and going to war for Trump against his opponents... on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America,”

Last week, I penned the following:

“Now, you would suspect the possibility of nuclear war might just be the catalyst to send markets reeling, but looking at the market’s reaction on Thursday, I suspect there will be t-shirts soon reading:

 

‘I survived the threat of nuclear war and the ‘great crash of 2017’ of 1.5%'”

We've spent a lot of time this year discussing the complete collapse of mall-based retailers, a collapse which has resulted in more store closures in Q1 2017 than all of 2016 and will likely claim more victims by the end of this year than any year since the great recession nearly a decade ago.  Here are a couple of recent examples:

The Financial Times reminds readers of something that has occurred numerous times throughout history when leaders lose the support of their people... "The president may exploit an overseas conflict to distract from problems at home..."

On Facebook this morning, Mitt Romney posted a rather forceful plea for President Trump to pursue "extreme remedial actions" regarding his Charlottesville comments saying that "whether he intended to or not, what he communicated caused racists to rejoice, minorities to weep, and the vast heart of America to mourn."

Adding in a dose of dramatics, Romney explains that absent a forceful apology from Trump "there may commence an unraveling of our national fabric."
