I recently went back to take a look at a piece I did in the year 2000 for the Weekly Standard, about a huge controversy then in Boston. It is astonishing from the viewpoint of 2016 to observe how all of this was a trial run for what’s happening across the nation now. I’m going to quote from it at length. It’s prophetic:

Caitlyn Jenner regrets transitioning from male to female and desperately wants to revert back to being Bruce Jenner, according to a Kardashian biographer. According to Ian Halperin, multiple friends of Caitlyn have said that Jenner wants to re-transition back to male in the next 2 years. Foxnews.com reports: Halperin said while doing research for his book “Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family,” several sources indicated Jenner is unhappy.
Russia have accused America of risking nuclear war by installing a long-awaited missile defense system in Europe. Moscow have said that the American-built system put Russia’s security in danger, suggesting that the country hosting the system, Romania, could be reduced to “smoking ruins” as a result. Nytimes.com reports: “We have been saying right from when this story started that our experts are convinced that the deployment of the ABM system poses a certain threat to the Russian Federation,” the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri S. Peskov, told reporters in a conference call.
