It’s been a week since Hurricane Maria made landfall in eastern Puerto Rico, and hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans living in remote villages remain cut off from the world, after the storm trashed power grids, tore up roads, downed cell towers and caused a dam in the northwestern part of the island to fail, endangering tens of thousands of people living in a valley below.

Fears of an imminent eruption on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali have led to the evacuation of an estimated 50,000 people.
The Mount Agung volcano is going to erupt, scientists say.
Waskita Sutadewa, the spokesman for the disaster mitigation agency in Bali, said people have scattered to all corners of the island and some have crossed to the neighboring island of Lombok.

Baltimore fire crews are struggling to suppress a four-alarm fire at a warehouse in the Fairfield area of South Baltimore. Pictures of the blaze show the 94,000 square-foot building engulfed in flames, sending clouds of thick, dark smoke billowing into the air that were widely visible to the city’s 600,000 residents.
