Climate Change Is A National Security Threat Says Pentagon Chief

The US Defense Secretary James Mattis has expressed opposing views to President Donald Trump about global warming. Calling climate change a clear and present threat to national security, his views puts him at odds with many high-ranking officials within the Trump administration. “Climate change is impacting stability in areas of the world where our troops are operating today,” Mattis said in a written testimony provided to the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday.
