As we write about the risks of our over-indebted economy, of our unsustainable fossil fuel-dependent energy policies, and our accelerating depletion of key resources, it's not a far leap to start worrying about the potential for a coming degradation of our modern lifestyle -- or even the possibility of full-blown societal collapse.

This past Thursday marked the one-year anniversary of the US stock market’s death when stocks saw their last high. Market bulls have spent a year looking like the walking dead. They’ve tried to push back up to that distant high that means new life several times, but each time the market falls into a pit again.

Before we get started, just two quick charts to shut the mouths of all those proclaiming this is a hated rally and that sentiment is shitty... it's not!

The Hungarian prime minister’s chief of staff has accused President Obama of deliberately filling Europe with illegal immigrants in an attempt to orchestrate a migrant crisis.  Janos Lazar told a press conference on Thursday that Obama is pushing for illegal immigration in Europe as part of a secret U.S. New World Order agenda.

Two weeks ago a high-ranking deputy for Turkey’s ruling AKP party, Burhan Kuzu (also a former adviser to President Erdogan) issued an explicit threat to Europe which was at that time discussing whether or not to grant Turkey visa-free travel within the continent. Specifically, he tweeted that "The European Parliament will discuss the report that will open Europe visa-free for Turkish citizens. If the wrong decision is taken, we will unleash  the refugees!."
