Having already signed a (mostly symbolic) executive order on Obamacare on Friday night, urging US agencies to "waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation" of provisions deemed to impose fiscal burdens on states, companies or individuals, Trump is preparing to unload a volley of many more executive orders. Trump's crackdown on Obamacare is accelerating.
Just over 7 hours after his inauguration, late on Friday, the president signed an executive order concerning the 2010 healthcare law, telling reporters the action was meant "to ease the burden of Obamacare as we transition from repeal and replace" and urging U.S. agencies to "waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation" of provisions deemed to impose fiscal burdens on states, companies or individuals.
Israel has approved building permits for an additional 560 homes in three settlements in occupied East Jerusalem on Sunday. The announcement came just 48 hours after Donald Trump took office as the 45th American president. RT reports: Israel Radio talked to the Chairman of Jerusalem city hall’s Planning and Building committee, Meir Turgeman, who said the permits had been in the works, but delayed until Barack Obama was out of office.
The British government has been accused of hiding the failed test firing of a Trident nuclear missile. The incident happened just weeks before a crucial Commons vote to renew the submarine-launched missile system. According to a report by the Sunday Times citing a senior naval source, a Trident II D5 missile fired last year from a Royal Navy nuclear submarine off the Florida coast malfunctioned and headed to the mainland during a routine test.
