Three hundred U.S. Marines arrived in Norway on Monday for a six-month deployment angering their Arctic neighbour Russia. This is the first time since World War Two that foreign troops have been allowed to be stationed there. Before Norway joined NATO in 1949, it allayed Russian fears by pledging not to open its territory to foreign combat troops “as long as it is not under attack or threat of attack.” The deployment comes just one week after thousands of US troops arrived in Poland to “support NATO’s Anti-Russian buildup” across Eastern Europe.

Warning that a "soft coup" is being waged against Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he sees attempts in the United States to "delegitimize" US President-elect Donald Trump using "Maidan-style" methods previously used in Ukraine, where readers will recall president Yanukovich was ousted in 2014 following a violent coup, which many suspect was conducted under the auspices of the US State Department and assorted US intelligence operations.

Vietnam veteran and former "Berkeley Black Panther" liberal turned conservative author, Mason Weaver, appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight with some harsh words for Civil Rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga), who recently referred to President-elect Trump as illegitimate. Weaver considers Lewis a turncoat who has been "collaborating with the Democrat party to oppress black America."

Merkel’s human rights speaker, Erika Steinbach, resigned over the chancellor’s immigration policy. She also left the CDU party.

Erika Steinbach, who’s been with Chancellor Merkel’s CDU for 43 years, has strongly criticized the leader’s handling of the migrant crisis. She claims conservatives have been sidelined in Germany’s main ruling party.
