ITV reports: The trip, which marks a new chapter in Washington’s engagement with the island’s Communist government, would have been all but unimaginable before a detente brokered in December 2014.

Following successful military operations in Syria, Russia could now provide security for two Maghreb countries, Morocco and Tunisia who also face a threat from the ISIS, according to French media Boulevard Voltaire. Sputnik reports: Russia would establish a security zone in the Mediterranean and, thus, will be able to contain Turkish hegemony in the region and jihadist movements destabilizing both the Middle East and its peripheral regions, Professor Benjamin Wirtz wrote for Boulevard Voltaire.

On Friday, the EU and Turkey came to an agreement on a set of proposals to stem the flow of Mid-East asylum seekers into Western Europe.
