In recent weeks one nation after another is falling over themselves, literally, to join the turkey shoot known, erroneously, as the war in Syria, ostensibly against the Islamic State or Daesh. The most wanted but most feared question is where will this war frenzy lead, and how can it be stopped short of dragging the entire planet into a world war of destruction?
The long-cherished neocon dream of "regime change" in Syria is blocking a possible route out of the crisis -- a ceasefire followed by elections in which President Assad could compete. The problem is there's no guarantee that Assad would lose and thus the dream might go unfulfilled, writes Robert Parry.

A perfect chaos-provoking tool aligned with the strategic objective of the "Empire of Chaos" in Syria. Oh, but the Pentagon would never engage in such practices, would they?
