Le Pen Kicks Off Presidential Campaign Echoing Trump: The Highlights From Her Manifesto

The leader of the anti-immigration French National Front party Marine Le Pen kicked off her presidential campaign on Saturday by echoing many of the same vows that brought Trump to power in the US, hoping promises to shield voters from globalization, promote protectionism, leave the Eurozone, slap taxes on imports and on the job contracts of foreigners, lower the retirement age, increasing welfare benefits and boost defense spending push her above her competitors at a time of sweeping political turmoil in France.

Clinton Foundation On The Brink Of Collapse

The Clinton Foundation is teetering on the brink of collapse with staff being laid off amid donations completely drying up. The layoffs come as big donors to the Foundation angrily withdrew their financial support upon realising that their money was wasted. Anonhq.com reports: In the run-up to the 2016 Presidential election of the United States, the foundation came under close public scrutiny when the anti-secrecy media outlet, WikiLeaks started publishing secrets of the organization.

Study Finds ‘Fake News’ Did Not Influence Presidential Election

According to a Stanford-NYU study, so called ‘fake news’ circulated on social media did not change the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election. Releeased last month, the study entitled “Social Media and Fake News in the 2016 Election,” NYU economics professor Hunt Allcott and Stanford economics professor Matthew Gentzkow conducted a series of tests to determine which ‘fake news’ articles were being circulated, how much they were shared and viewed, and what impact they had, if any, on voters.
