After nearly six years, Syria's civil war started under Hillary Clinton's watch in March 2011 during the Arab Spring protest, is finally coming to an end.

The battle for one of the most contested Syrian cities during the war, Aleppo - which was Syria's most populous city before the war - is almost over and the "rebel forces" who live in the city eastern part, realizing they are on the verge of losing, have finally come to the negotiating table but it is too late.

The Syrian President said that a victory in the battle for the city of Aleppo will be “a huge step” toward bringing the war in Syria to an end. President Bashar al-Assad also said the full liberation of Aleppo would deal a huge blow to regional and international supporters of the terrorist groups. “It’s true that Aleppo will be a win for us, but let’s be realistic, it won’t mean the end of the war in Syria,…but it will be a huge step towards this end.” Assad said.

An Iranian-made drone has attacked a Turkish military camp stationed in northern Syria, killing four soldiers, according to a senior Turkish official.  The unmanned drone attacked the camp on November 24, but Turkish officials are yet to identify whether Hezbollah, the Quds Force or another Shiite militia group were responsible. The British Prime Minister has accused Iran of ‘aggressive actions’ in the Middle East including stirring up trouble in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. Theresa May says she is “clear-eyed” about the “threat” posed by the country and has pledged to work with Gulf States to counteract its influence. Addressing the Gulf Cooperation Council, the conservative leader said that Britain wanted to “make a more permanent and more enduring commitment to the long-term security of the Gulf” and would invest more than 3 billion pounds in defence spending in the region over the next decade.

Thousands of armed ‘moderate’ groups in Syria could end up joining jihadist forces if the Trump administration abandons them, the Washington Post is warning. Fake news? The article seems to be raising a false alarm as these groups are already in bed together. The so called “moderate rebels” were previously vetted by the US to receive weapons via CIA channels.
