Large Hadron Collider Shuts Down Because Of A Weasel

The Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator at Cern has been taken offline…by a weasel….apparently The poor creature did not survive the encounter with a high-voltage transformer at the site near Geneva in Switzerland. The LHC was running when an apparent “severe electrical perturbation” occurred in the early hours of Friday morning. A CERN spokesman said that the weasel did not get into the tunnels, just the electrical facilities.

Iranian youth are falling in love with a Russian instant messaging app that is also gaining popularity in the Arab world. ICQ Messenger was the original instant messaging service that set the trend for today’s applications. Originally it was developed in Israel and later was acquired by the Mail.ru Group. Igor Ermakov, the head of the Instant Messaging division at Mail.ru, gave an interview to Sputnik Persia about the app and its popularity among Russian, Iranian and Arab youth.

Police Unveil Scary Riot Control Dalek That Electrocutes Protestors

A Chinese university have unveiled new Dalek style robots that are designed to electrocute unruly members of the public if they do not comply with orders given to them within 10 seconds.  Looking like something from the Doctor Who TV show, the Dalek’s are designed to help police keep members of the public in check during riots or protests by giving them an electric shock. Dailymail.co.uk reports: Its makers said the AnBot is a breakthrough in low cost robotics and surveillance and could play a key role in the future of China’s attempts to crush terrorism and public dissent.
