€100,000 Bounty Offered For "Dangerous And Armed" Berlin Attacker; Europe-Wide Police Alert Issued

Update 2: German authorities issued a Europe-wide police alert naming 23-year-old Anis Amri as a suspect in the case, describing him as “dangerous and armed.”

Meanwhile, according to the suspect's father and security sources, Tunisia's Radio Mosaique reported that Anis Amri left Tunisia seven years ago as an illegal immigrant and spent time in prison in Italy.

Tunisia: Nationwide Curfew In Place After Unemployment Protests

Tunisia is under a curfew again just five years after the Jasmine Revolution which ousted the old corrupt regime of President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali in January 2015 and started the so called Arab Spring. Unemployment protests have spread nationwide and become violent, resulting in a nationwide curfew being imposed by the authorities to curb growing social unrest. Tunisia Celebrates Five Years Of Ben Ali’s Exile In Saudi Arabia

The first ruler to fall under the sword of the Arab Spring was Tunisia’s ousted president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. He ruled Tunisia for decades as a strongman until the revolution forced him into exile. He is now reportedly fading into obscurity while in exile in Saudi Arabia with his family. The first victim of the Arab Spring was a 26-year-old fruit and vegetable vendor by the name of Mohamed Bouazizi, who set himself alight, in protest at the level of corruption and economic injustice prevalent in Tunisia, on December 17, 2010. Bouazizi died on January 4, 2011.
