Footage has been released showing the moment that Iranian forces detained 10 US sailors. The sailors were taken into custody as their boats crossed into Iran’s territorial waters on Tuesday. The images followed the release of the sailors earlier on Wednesday. RT reports: Dressed in camouflage uniforms, the sailors can be seen kneeling on the deck of the patrol boat, with hands on their heads. They are then shown seated in a room, being given tea, bottled water and food by their Iranian hosts.

So, to sum up: Compared to a similar incident in 2007, this was handled much more quickly and with a minimum of fuss. It’s almost as if U.S. diplomacy toward Iran has yielded some benefits or something.

The ten US sailors who were captured by Revolutionary Guards after entering Iranian waters have been released. The US military confirmed the sailors’ release after the Guards issued a statement claiming they were freed into international waters after an apology from Washington.
