North Korea has reportedly fired a ballistic missile, in the first test since Donald Trump took office as US president. The ballistic missile was launched on Sunday morning and reached an altitude of about 550 kilometers, according to a South Korean military source. Japanese officials said that the missile did not reach its waters. Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said the test was “absolutely intolerable” while President Trump assured the visiting Japanese PM that Washington was committed to the security of its key Asian ally.

Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Naif Abdulaziz Al-Saud has received an award from the CIA for his contribution to the fight against terrorism. No it’s not April 1st yet and it isn’t fake new…. the Crown Prince, who is Saudi Arabia’s deputy premier and interior minister, really was presented with the George Tenet award by CIA Director Mike Pompeo in Riyadh on Friday. The CIA has come under fire after awarding a Saudi Arabia official connected to the 9/11 terror attacks an award for “fighting terrorism.” Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, deputy premier and interior minister, was given the George Tenet award by CIA Director Mike Pompeo on Friday. Rt.com reports: Named for the former Director of Central Intelligence under Bill Clinton and George W Bush, the George Tenet award recognized the Saudi royal’s intelligence work against terrorism and his contributions to peace and security.

With the news cycle clearly far less interested in Trump's golf game or Abe's handicap, just before 8am local time (6pm ET), North Korea decided to provide CNN with some "exciting" news when it fired a ballistic missile into the sea off its east coast, South Korea's military said, in what was the latest test of Trump's resolve to retaliate to North Korean provocations.

Three other Americans were reportedly wounded and an Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft was destroyed by U.S. forces after it was heavily damaged in a forced landing.
