Thousands of National Guard troops have been deployed to the upcoming Donald Trump inauguration after an assassination plot was discovered. The Jan. 20 inauguration will see 5,000 troops deployed downtown and a massively beefed up security presence surround the President-elect in order to thwart any assassination attempt. Washingtonexaminer.com reports: Mayor Muriel Bowser said despite increased security concerns, the city is prepared and ready for the event, she said Friday at a press conference with U.S. Secret Service and other security forces.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has revealed that Hillary Clinton profited a stunning $100k directly from ISIS militants in Syria.  According to Assange, the former Secretary of State earned the money when she was director of a company tasked with arming militants in the Middle East. Accmag.com reports: In an interview with Democracy Now, Assange claimed that along with the office of the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton was also the director of the French company Lafarge, which was handling the US’s secret mission in Syria that aimed to topple the government of President Assad.

Hundreds of US tanks, trucks and other military equipment have arrived at the German port of Bremerhaven to be transferred to Eastern Europe as part of NATO’s buildup near Russia’s borders. The equipment arrived in Germany by ship  and will be transported by rail and road to eastern Europe as part of a NATO buildup that has exacerbated tensions with Moscow The equipment along with  3,500 US troops are to be deployed along NATO’s’s eastern frontier.

An Iraq war veteran is accused of killing five people at an airport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday. Esteban Santiago 26 was taken into custody immediately following the shooting, questioned at length and was expected to face federal charges in the shooting rampage, said George Piro, a special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s office in Miami. Authorities said Santiago had suffered from psychological problems and had complained that the US government was controlling his mind.
