The Syrian army have captured the 20 stone ISIS executioner dubbed “The Bulldozer.” The obese jihadi once chopped off the arm and leg of a teenager for refusing to enlist with the terror group. He is famous for chopping off the heads of his victims with a three-foot sword and carrying around a five-foot-long, 52kg Browning machine gun. Video shows the terrifying man hand-cuffed and half-naked in the back of a truck, grimacing as he is driven away.

Israeli military forces have reportedly arrested a correspondent for Iran’s Al-Alam news channel in the occupied Golan Heights. According to a police spokemsan, 43 year old Bassam al-Safadi, a resident of the Druze village of Majdal Shams has been accused of “publishing statements in support of terror groups and incitement to violence or terror”.

After 15 years of claiming that Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda were responsible and acted alone, high-ranking Americans are publicly blaming Saudi Arabia for the 9/11 terrorist attacks…. and now Saudi Arabia is publicly blaming the United States. However, according to investigative journalist Wayne Masden, it was American neocons, Saudi Arabia and Israel that successfully pulled off the September 11 attacks. They are now infighting to the point that the layers of secrecy surrounding the crime of the 21st century, are starting to peel away.

Max Boot offers some typically wrongheaded thoughts on America’s foreign wars. He alleges that the U.S. has a habit of losing “won” wars:

What do all these betrayals of trust have in common? A failure by the American population and politicians to sustain a long-term commitment that would build on battlefield gains [bold mine-DL].

Visiting Hiroshima last week, President Obama expressed the wish that in the future no community would ever have to suffer the horrors inflicted on that city in 1945, and moreover, that the bombing should never be forgotten. Those sentiments were obvious and unexceptionable. Much more debatable, though, was his restatement of his desire to see a world free of nuclear weapons. If expressed as a general platitude, that is fine, but if it represents any kind of serious strategy or policy goal, it is dangerous to the point of insanity.
