How Bad Would A Radiological Terror Attack Be?

When it comes to human health, all nuclear scenarios are not created equal. The Chernobyl disaster caused an estimated 16,000 cases of thyroid cancer, while the Fukushima power plant accident barely produced any. A dizzying number of variables go into understanding the damage that a particular nuclear or radiological device might have. But modeling the effects of such devices has become also become easier, and more public, thanks to the Internet.

Far-right terrorists posing as activists mowed down a Muslim woman during a right-wing anti-Islam rally in the Brussels district of Molenbeek. Police clashed with far-right protesters while a car drove at speed, ploughing through a police line towards a Muslim woman. The woman was deliberately run over and severely injured as the car passenger was sen filming through the window as the barbaric act was being committed and while police officers stood by with their weapons drawn.

Last week, Reuters reported a development which should have surprised precisely nobody: while the Kremlin announced one month ago that it would begin withdrawing military forces from Syria at once, Putin was doing the opposite.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia at the Hague, has found Serbian far-right nationalist Vojislav Seselj, whose volunteers helped to start the war in Croatia in 1991, not guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
