Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has warned that if Trump’s immigration ban does not get implemented then terrorists leaving Syria will spill into the United States unchecked. Assad praised Trump as being the only Western leader offering real solutions in the war against ISIS, and predicted on Wednesday that if Trump is allowed to get on with the job, his plan will be successful. “Trump during the campaign and after the campaign is promising regarding the priority of fighting terrorists, and mainly ISIS, that’s what we’ve been asking for during the last six years … we think is going to be positive for the rest of the world, including Syria,” he told CNN. President Assad told Yahoo News that some refugees leaving Syria are “definitely” terrorists, and that efforts in the U.S. to block Trump’s immigration policy are putting American lives in danger.
