British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is reportedly preparing to call for an investigation into Tony Blair for war crimes during the Iraq War in the wake of a long-awaited Chilcot report. The Chilcot inquiry into the Iraq war will publish a 2.6 million-word report on July 6, following seven years of analyzing evidence about how the British government acted before the 2003 invasion of Iraq and during the war. The Independent reports: During the Labour leadership election Mr Corbyn said he was convinced the Iraq War was illegal and that anyone who had committed a crime should be put on trial. “If [Tony Blair has] committed a war crime, yes. Everyone who’s committed a war crime should be [charged],” he said. “I think it was an illegal war, I’m confident about that, indeed Kofi Annan confirmed it was an illegal war, and therefore he has to explain to that. “Is he going to be tried for it, I don’t know.
