Trump To Talk Syria, Ukraine With Putin At G-20 Summit; "Russian Meddling" Reportedly Not On The Agenda

Last week we quipped that it appeared as though Trump had officially scheduled his first kick-off planning session for the 2020 presidential elections when NBC News confirmed that he and Putin would meet later this week at the G-20 Summit in Hamburg.  While details are still scarce on the agenda for the meeting, the White House is now saying that discussions between the two controversial world leaders will center around Syria and Ukraine.  Per The Hill:

This is wonderful. We're moving past the stage of Russian hacking into John Podesta's email account, since it has garnered very little traction. Plus, no one can actually prove that the Wikileaks changed votes, just innuendo. All of the 'collusion' the deep state and the left have been trying to pin on Trump just got blown up during Comey's testimony, most likely thanks to Trump's mention of the possibility of tapes. Had Trump not done that, there is a very good chance that Comey would've went all the way with his lies.

Putin Critic Detained Hours Before Unsanctioned Protest

In a development that will likely grab media attention in the US, Russian police detained Kremlin opposition leader Alexei Navalny, according to his Twitter feed on Monday, hours before he called on supporters to mount an unsanctioned protest against corruption near the Kremlin. Navalny’s wife wrote on his Twitter account that he had been detained near the entrance of his home but that plans for the protest in central Moscow hadn’t changed.
