Anti-Muslim fever goes viral after Paris and San Bernardino attacks. To borrow Andrew O'hehir of Salon, Muslim fever has spread through our national bloodstream and replaced all thought. Many U.S. leaders have unleashed discriminatory rhetoric in the name of counterterrorism.
It boggles the imagination that America's 'most important ally' in the region has not put boots on the ground against ISIS. In a new ranking released by Business Insider, Israel has the most powerful military in the Middle East. It also ranked 1st in the region in military strength in the world by Global Firepower, which did not even include Israel's nuclear capability at the time of the ranking.
The Palestinians are alone in this, as they have always been. Their current revolution (of kitchen knives) has so far been disavowed and misreported in a media that seems to only revere and lionize sectarian, head-chopping backward movements on GCC-funded, bought and paid for suicide missions to further dismantle the Arab World into feuding mini statelets only for the benefit of the imperial West and of course Israel.
I am giving my support to Putin and in Syria. But if he betrays Rojava as Kronstadt was betrayed, the ghost of Rojava will track him down just as the ghost of Kronstadt tracked down the Soviet giant. Just as the ghosts of all the true freedom fighters ever betrayed by the USA are now tracking down that giant.
When we think of terrorism, we usually envision a suicide bomber or a mass shooter or perhaps someone who hijacks a plane and flies it into a skyscraper. But there's another, even more dangerous, kind of terrorist: The terrorist who exploits such acts for political gain. Last week's attack in San Bernardino is bringing the latter kind of terrorist out of the woodwork.
