Americans Renounce Citizenship Fearing Donald Trump Presidency

As the United States comes to grips with the possibility of Donald Trump sitting in the White House making final judgments on U.S. and world affairs, a 1700% increase in renounced citizenship, compared to the Bush era, has been reported by the US Treasury Department. An exodus of U.S. citizens is even more likely after he became the presumptive presidential nominee of the Republican party when his rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich dropped out of the race.

Kasich’s Foolish Hawkishness

John Kasich finally dropped out of the race yesterday. Foreign Policy describes his departure this way:

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, the most experienced Republican on national security remaining in the 2016 election, suspended his campaign Wednesday — leaving one of the least experienced presidential candidates to the GOP presidential nomination.

So … are we having fun yet?

I’ve been eating jambalaya and drinking with old friends visiting from the Netherlands tonight. We spoke of Ignatius J. Reilly. My No. 1 Son came to the table at some point and told us that Ted Cruz had dropped out of the race, and that the Republican Party belonged to Donald Trump.

We all looked at each other as if Mama June from Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo had walked over to the table and squeezed out a massive fart.
