Israeli Settlers Forced To Flee As Wildfires Spread In West Bank

Israeli settlers have been forced to flee as wildfires have started to spread through areas near to settlements in the occupied West Bank. According to a police spokeswoman on Saturday nearly 1,000 settlers were forced to leave the Halamish settlement near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah as 45 settler units were either damaged or destroyed by the fires. The blazes, fueled by drought and high winds, were raging in many locations throughout the Israeli-occupied territories on Friday . The fire in Israels third largest city Haifa has forced some 80,000 people to flee.

Angry Argentine Farmers Destroy ‘Poisonous’ Monsanto Facility

A group of angry farmers in Argentina have successfully stopped the expansion of a Monsanto facility and have halted future construction plans. Farmers, anti-GMO activists, and concerned citizens bravely occupied the Monsanto plant in Malvinas, Argentina, by descending on the property and refusing to vacate. Csglobe.com reports: “Residents of an Argentinian town have forced one of Monsanto’s half-completed GMO seed plants to be dismantled,” says Christina Sarich, writing for the Underground Reporter.

Exxon Mobil: Rockefellers Behind Climate Change Conspiracy

Exxon Mobil has accused the Rockefellers of masterminding a climate change conspiracy aimed at destroying the fossil fuel industry. The company has launched a campaign to defend its image after the Rockefeller family pressured lawyers, journalists and environmental groups to try and destroy the oil and gas company. Nytimes.com reports: But the oil and gas giant has directed some of its fiercest fire at the descendants of John D. Rockefeller, who in 1870 founded Standard Oil, the company that became Exxon Mobil.

Tens Of Thousands Evacuated As Wildfires Rage In Israel

Around fifty thousand people are being evacuated as wildfires rage through parts of Israel’s third largest city, Haifa. The fires had been burning in several locations for the past three days but intensified on Thursday, fueled by unseasonably dry weather and strong winds. The wildfires tore across central and northern Israel on Thursday, with Israeli leaders blaming arsonists for some of the blazes and branding them terrorists. The BBC reports: Wildfires are also threatening homes near Jerusalem and in the West Bank.
