In the opening monologue of his talk show, Real Time Host Bill Maher suggested that disaster victims in Florida and Texas somehow don’t deserve the $15 billion in federal aid money being allocated for the cleanup efforts after Hurricane Harvey – and now Hurricane Irma – devastated their states and forced millions from their homes.

As we noted on Friday, sea-level analytics firm Climate Central had created a simulation based on the National Hurricane Center’s Coastal Emergency Risks Assessment storm surge and wave modeling that illustrated the devastating flooding in Miami that could result from Hurricane Irma’s storm surge. By overlaying the NHC data with a three-dimensional visual of the city obtained using Google maps, the firm created a realistic visual of what the city would look like under between seven and 11 feet of water.
As the following "before and after" photos taken from the French Keraunos satellite show, the catastrophic damage on Barbuda can be seen from space with the entire island stripped of tropical foliage and left brown.

The sun just released a massive solar flare.
In fact, as SHTFplan.com's Mac Slavo details, this is the largest solar flare emitted in the past decade, and the earth has already been affected by blackouts.
NASA has reported a huge solar flare was emitted by the Sun and it is the most powerful one since 2006.
