Like a bad parent who doesn’t love his kids equally, I have a confession. My infatuation with European stocks has stopped me from seeing clearly. For the past year I have buying European stocks. When I started, the idea was certainly out of favour - Pretty sure I am alone in this trade. Over time, it gathered momentum, and I stuck with it - The Best Trade on the Board.

Perhaps, I spent too much time in European cities because Athens and Greece in particular always failed to impress me.

Ok, they have a lot of crumbly buildings. But so do every other country in the region. Ephesus is more impressive than the Panthenon. The Colosseum more impressive than the Valley of the Temples.

Italy Bank Bailouts Send European, Global Stocks Higher; Gold Flash Crashes

S&P futures point to a higher open following gains in Asian markets supported by stronger commodities but mostly European bourses, which are sharply higher following the €17 billion bailout of the two Veneto banks in Italy, the biggest taxpayer funded bank rescue in modern Italian history, as well as Dan Loeb's activist campaign of the world's biggest food company, Nestle which sent the stock up 5%, and finally Germany's Ifo business climate index which hit new all time highs.
