Breslow Turns Bullish: "Don't Assume Each Event Will End Badly"

After a period of several weeks in which Bloomberg's macro/FX commentator Richard Breslow took a tentative gamble on the skeptical, if not outright bearish, side in this morning's note the former FX trader has shifted his outlook to a modestly more bullish one, cautioning that in light of recent events, "too many commentators have fallen into the “everything is binary” trap and decided that if you assume each event will end badly, there’s material to turn out a good rant.

The most recent French election polls remain very tight. Four candidates have a genuine shot at making it to the final round.

The first round vote is on April 23. Yet, a huge percentage of voters still have not made up their minds who to vote for.

Another 32% to 37% plan on sitting the election out or purposely spoiling their ballot.

In a letter to employees, United CEO Oscar Munoz said he was "upset to see and hear about what happened," but defended his staff's actions because the passenger had been "disruptive and belligerent." It seems not acquiescing to a computer's decision to select you for 'reaccomodation' is "disruptive" and warrants violence?

As The BBC reports, Mr Munoz has faced criticism on social media for his response to the incident.
