Apple spent about five years developing the iPhone, which has changed the smartphone market forever. Until the release, however, nobody could imagine what impact the iPhone would have on the market.

And most consumers didn’t know about it at all.

The same thing is happening with China and gold right now. The gold market will soon be very different than from what we see today - largely due to the current developments in China.

You may have seen Ross Douthat’s column from the weekend, in which he talked about the reactionary element of American conservatism. He says that classical reactionary thought usually contains racist and anti-Semitic elements. Even so…:

As European countries deal with the current refugee crisis, each is taking a slightly different approach in response to the escalating situation. In Norway, which has been shocked by the unfolding events in neighboring Sweden which has seen a mass revulsion at the ongoing refugee onslaught (and which recently announced it won't accept any more refugees from the EU) the answer appears to be the simplest possible one: offer asylum seekers money to leave.
