Germany: Muslim Biker Gang Vows To "Protect" Fellow Muslims

A machete-wielding man shouting Allahu Akbar has killed one and injured several others after going on the rampage through a German supermarket this afternoon according to German news agency dpa and the Hamburg police. The attack happened on the corner of Fuhlsbüttler and Hermann-Kauffmann streets in the north of the city, police said. People were warned to stay away from the area. Witnesses said the attack happened at a branch of Edeka, Germany's largest supermarket chain.
One month after the EU's executive Commission launched legal cases against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic for "defaulting on their legal obligations" by refusing to comply with the EU's refugee quotas (i.e., accept migrants), on Wednesday the three Central European nations suffered another blow after Brussels mounted a legal fightback to force them to comply with EU refugee quotas.
S&P futures were fractionally higher (+0.1% to 2,476) with all eyes on the Fed's rate decision as investors await another earnings deluge from companies including Facebook, Coca-Cola and Boeing. Asian and European shares were also higher, prompted by momentum from the latest US record high; the Dollar rebound continued while oil rose above $48 as copper hit a two year high.
After sliding to 3 month lows on "car cartel" concerns yesterday, European stocks have rebounded after three days of declines, while oil extended gains after Saudi export cuts, with Brent rising above $49 and WTI just shy of $47. Asian stocks fell while S&P futures rose 0.2% to 2,473, putting yesterday's GOOGL drop on plunging Costs-Per-Click in the rearview mirror.
