Two recent reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) show that efforts to encourage Americans to lose weight aren't working.

In one study of more than 5,400 adults, the results show that 33% of US adults are overweight, and 38% of US adults are obese. Breaking the data down a bit further, the report writes that "the age-adjusted prevalence of obesity in 2013-2014 was 35% among men, and 40.4% among women." Additionally, more than 5% of men and nearly 10% of women came in morbidly obese.

Russia have released photographs that show Stonehenge being rebuilt between 1954 to 1958, allegedly on the orders of the British government. For decades official Stonehenge guidebooks have been full of fascinating facts, figures and theories surrounding the world’s most infamous prehistoric monument. What the brochures do not mention, however, is the systematic rebuilding of the 4,000 year old stone circle in the 20th Century. The information is markedly absent from the guidebooks and info-phones used by tourists at the site.

While Bernie Sanders' fans will be understandably surprised, if not downright furious, by the timing of the AP report, Hillary's supporters will be delighted, as will Hillary herself. Here she is campaigning in  rally in Long Beach, CA, where he has just learned she is the presumptive nominee.

The Fed may be worried about deflation - and specifically wage deflation, which is now failing to keep up with rent, tuition, housing and healthcare - but when it comes to the the favorite stomping grounds of Wall Street's partygoers, it has nothing to worry about: inflation here is alive and well. Case in point, this weekend's launch of the official summer season in Southampton, where as Page 6 reports, among the usual sights were record prices and a long wait for tables at a new Hamptons hot spot which set off a near-brawl over the weekend.
