Newly-released footage captures an incident from March which shows a Kansas under-sheriff tasing a 91-year-old man with Alzheimer’s at a nursing home in Minneapolis. The Ottaway County deputy Russ Thornton was filmed discharging his stun gun at the distressed man and then handcuffing him on the ground as he writhed around in agony. The elderly man who had become ‘disorderly’ and allegedly struck another patient, died just two months after the incident.

Police are allowed to shoot and kill your dog if it moves “a few inches” or barks at them, a ruling from the 6th Circuit Court has decreed. Mark and Cheryl Brown petitioned the appeals court to hold the city and police officers from Battle Creek, Mich., accountable for shooting and killing their dogs while executing a search warrant of their home looking for evidence of drugs.

Guns and knives are, in many ways, the best self-defense tools.

However - as police academies across the United States teach - a bad guy with a knife can charge and kill a good guy armed with a handgun if they're 21 feet apart or less.

In other words, before you have time to draw aim and fire your gun, you may get fatally stabbed.

At last some college students are catching on to the scam of the century: the ‘education industrial complex’ that keeps driving the price of an education up while offering less and less in return. Average income is now five times what it was 40 years ago, while the price of a college education has increased 18 times in the same period. Yet the average college degree has never been more useless, preparing the graduate for nothing. Unless you are doing a targeted degree for a specific ‘real’ career, then you are being conned.

For the first time since May, initial jobless claims are now higher year-over-year (surging to 275k last week - the highest since June).

Notice the "odd" plunge in claims into the election... anything to maintain confidence...

While the trend is notably bad post election, we do note that this is the 94th consecutive week with claims below 300,000 - the longest streak since 1969...

Question is - what happens next? Recession?
