The United States has warned Israel that products imported from the occupied West Bank should not be labeled as “made in Israel.” Guidelines were reissued last week by US Customs authorities in response to the repeated mislabeling of products made in the West Bank. Press TV reports: US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said on Thursday the decision to reissue the policy had been taken after mislabeling complaints. “US Customs and Border Protection reissued guidance on their marking requirements,” he told reporters in Washington, DC.
U.N. secretary-general Ban Ki-moon has called the continuous Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank “an affront to the Palestinian people and to the international community.” Mr Ban has called for a freeze on settlement activity by Israel to give peace with the Palestinians and a two state solution a chance. Israel have confirmed plans to steal more land that currently belongs to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli regime have said they will seize a large tract of fertile land in order to expand its illegal settlement construction along the West Bank. Presstv.com reports: The decision had already been taken to capture the territory and “the lands are in the final stages of being declared” Israeli lands, Reuters quoted a unit in the Israeli Ministry for Military Affairs, which coordinates Tel Aviv’s activities in the occupied territories, as saying.
