AP Fact-Checks Trump-Immigration-Blocking Judge, Finds 'Alternative Facts'

The federal judge who halted President Donald Trump's travel ban was wrong in stating that no one from the seven countries targeted in Trump's order has been arrested for extremism in the United States since the 2001 terrorist attacks.

As AP reports,

Just last October, an Iraqi refugee living in Texas pleaded guilty to attempting to provide support to the Islamic State group, accused of taking tactical training and wanting to blow himself up in an act of martyrdom.

 

Drug Dealer Commuted By Obama Caught With Half Kilo Of Cocaine

A drug dealer who had his sentence commuted by Obama is back behind bars after being caught with half a kilo of cocaine after crashing his car into another motorist while allegedly fleeing from a drug deal gone wrong. Robert Martinez Gill, 68, had his life sentence commuted by President Obama along with a record-breaking 1,700 other federal inmates on drugs charges. He had been serving prison time since 1992 for cocaine and heroin distribution conspiracy – and he made the most of Obama’s clemency by going right back to the life he left behind.

Appeals Court To Hear Immigration Ban Arguments On Tuesday Evening

On Monday evening, a Federal Appeals Court announced that the legal showdown with the Trump Administration will take place on Tuesday evening around 6pm, when the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments on whether to restore President Trump’s executive action on immigration and refugees. Oral arguments will be made by phone, with each side getting 30 minutes of argument time. A recording of the call will be made public after the hearing.
