Putin: Russia Leaves ‘Biased’ International Criminal Court

Vladimir Putin withdrew Russia’s support of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Wednesday due to its bias against non-Western nations.  The ICC was set up in 1998 by the United Nations General Assembly, in order to prosecute individuals for crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. However, the court has come under heavy criticism from various African nations who say the court is persecuting African leaders without any evidence. Norwegian Police Arrest 20 Men In Pedo Ring

Police in Norway have arrested 20 people they say belong to a huge pedophile ring involving an estimated 51 people.  Norwegian police are investigating the pedo ring that they say involves infants and one suspect who abused his own children. Nytimes.com reports: Deputy Police Chief Gunnar Floystad says that in Norway’s largest abuse case to date they have arrested 20 men so far, with three convictions, in western Norway. The 31 other suspects are from other regions in Norway. Floystad told reporters Sunday that many of the suspects are highly educated, and include lawyers and politicians.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Istanbul on Saturday expressing their anger at a highly controversial draft law that would overturn men’s convictions for child sex assault if they married their victim.
