Bernie Sanders Walks Out of News Interview

Bernie Sanders hastily and suddenly walked out of a recent news interview with a local Arizona news station. According to the news anchor conducting the interview, Senator Sanders seemed upset after being asked a question about controversial Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio. Though in the video shown, Sanders does, in fact, answer the question – which is never heard on screen but claimed by the news station to be regarding Sanders’ wife, Jane, and her visit to the infamous “tent city”.

American ISIS Convert Teen To Face Death Penalty

Justin Sullivan, the 19 year old who sought to hire a hitman on his parents, killed his elderly neighbor, and wished to kill thousands is now also the first American ISIS convert to face the death penalty for his crimes, according to The Charlotte Observer: District Attorney David Learner announced Monday that he will try Sullivan’s alleged murder of 74-year-old John Bailey Clark as a capital case. The FBI says Sullivan shot Clark in 2014 to get money for an assault rifle to use in a mass killing.  Sullivan was arrested last June and charged with federal terrorism-related crimes.

New US Police “Ghost Cars” Meant To Catch More Criminals

A Maryland Police Department will be deploying a fleet of what they call “ghost cars”. GeoBeats reports that there is “excitement” in the air at Maryland’s Cecil County Sheriff’s Office: The vehicles are intended to give authorities a leg up in catching criminals, as from a distance they appear to be unmarked. At closer ranges, the law enforcement emblems become clearly visible. Cecil County opted to employ the semi-stealth paint job on Ford SUVs. Turkish Academics Jailed For Signing Anti-Erdogan Petition

Three academics in Turkey has been thrown in jail after they signed a peace petition in January 2016 criticising Erdogan’s regime.  The academics were charged with “making terrorist propaganda” and jailed on March 15, 2016 amid an ongoing criminal investigation. Hrw.org reports: At least 30 other academics have been dismissed and 27 suspended by their universities pending investigation. The Istanbul prosecutor responsible for terrorism crimes is conducting a criminal investigation into all the academics who signed the petition and many local investigations are taking place.

Homeless Activist Locked Up For Marijuana Possession, Dies in Jail

An investigation has been launched after a 26-year-old homeless man, who successfully sued police in two New Hampshire counties last year, was found dead in jail Sunday. Last week, police arrested Jeffrey Pendleton for possessing a small amount of cannabis. Even though the plant is legal in some form in 23 state, Pendleton was jailed after a Nashua District Court judge set his bail at $100, an amount he was unable to raise as a homeless person.
