With former president Barack Obama's climate legacy in tatters, moments ago the ex-president issued a scathing statement, slammed the Trump administration for "rejecting the future", and that "in the absence of American leadership", unlike the "steady, principled American leadership " under Obama, the former president urged "states, cities, and businesses" to "step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we've got."

Will he, or won't he?

Update: Bloomberg reports that person familiar with the decision have confirmed The White House plans to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.

The withdrawal will take three years and Trump will rework the Paris terms in the meantime.

With Trump reportedly set to leave the Paris Climate Deal, this has prompted one of Trump's "advisors",  Elon Musk, to tweet moments ago that he has done "all he can" to advise "directly to POTUS, through others in WH & via councils" that the U.S. remain in the Paris climate deal. 

And, in response to a Twitter user asking him what he will do if Trump decides to leave the climate deal, Musk tweets "we will have no choice but to depart councils."

Paris’ Gare du Nord train station, one of the city's major transportation hubs and the busiest train station in Europe, was evacuated on Monday as armed police searched for three "dangerous" terror suspects. The station was cordoned off around 11pm local time as dozens of police officers and transport staff evacuated and surrounded the large station in northeast Paris and sealed off all roads leading in as local residents milled around.

The confetti were still littering Paris from Macron's celebration event on Sunday night when the 39-year-old Frenchman became the youngest president in French history, and already he met with one of the biggest challenges facing his new administration: a population, mostly among the local labor unions, that is unwilling to accept any if not all of the proposed economic reforms, and made this abundantly clear on Monday by clashing in violent protests across Paris with the local riot police.
