President Donald Trump has signed the sanctions bill against Russia, North Korea, and Iran. With the near-unanimous, veto-proof margin by which the so-called «Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act» was passed by both the House and the Senate, Trump was in a lose-lose position.
Last night the Washington Post dumped it's latest 'bombshell' White House leaks in the form of full transcripts of Trump's calls with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull from back in January...which, in Trump years, feels like it was about 20 years ago (we covered it here: Trump Phone Call Transcripts Leaked: "New Hampshire Is A Drug Infested Den").
Back on June 29, 2016, Obama's Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, tried to convince us that the following 'impromptu' meeting between herself and Bill Clinton at the Phoenix airport, a private meeting which lasted 30 minutes on Lynch's private plane, was mostly a "social meeting" in which Bill talked about his grandchildren and golf game. It was not, under any circumstances, related to the statement that former FBI Director James Comey made just 6 days later clearing Hillary Clinton of any alleged crimes related to his agency's investigation.
Congressional investigators have dragged Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr. and Paul Manafort to grill them about a now-infamous June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower that is at the center of the Democrats’ dubious narrative that the Trump campaign somehow colluded with the Russian government to tilt the election in Trump’s favor.
For a few brief hours this week - after news broke of the hiring of Joel Benenson, a former top adviser to President Barack Obama and the chief strategist for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign, as a consultant - the odds of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg running for President in 2020 surged to 65%.
