The US fertility rate fell again last year, marking the lowest rate of reproduction since the CDC started keeping records in 1909. This prompted the amusing Bloomberg headline, “Make America Mate Again.”

The above chart shows that in 2015, there were only 62.5 births per 1,000 women of childbearing age. That fertility rate dropped even further, touching 62.3 births per 1,000 women, in the first half of 2016.

As the European Union continues to threaten member states with fines for "falling short" of fulfilling their duties to help international refugees (see "EU Threatens Member States With Fines Over Failure To Accept Refugees"), the daily reminders of why a wave of nationalism is sweeping over Europe in defiance of Merkel's open border policies continue to mount.

Primary schools across Glasgow, Scotland are introducing unisex toilets to tackle bullying and support children “confused about their gender identity,” according to the local council. There will be no separate facilities for boys and girls in three new junior schools.  The toilets will be labelled ‘unisex’ rather than ‘girls’ or boys’ to ‘tackle anti-social behavior and make LGBT students feel more at ease’. The move has been questioned by some parents who say the new initiative could instead lead to premature sexualization and sexual abuse.
