A new bill has been introduced that would allow police to put an end to demonstrations by killing protestors if it is deemed necessary.  The bill, introduced by a Republican state senator, allows police in Indiana to deal with protestors obstructing traffic “by any means necessary,” even at the point of costing lives. Anonhq.com reports: The bill set off a backlash of criticism, as we have already seen extreme brutality on the part of police at the Standing Rock camps, without an anything-goes type bill. The passing of a bill like this will absolutely result in innocent lives lost.

The most oft cited reason by opponents of President Trump’s immigration policies for why America should open its borders to the millions of impoverished and persecuted individuals around the world often center around humanitarian reasons. As a rich country with plenty of land mass, we should be able to take in anyone and everyone who may be in need, right?

The Virginia Commonwealth University's Office of Multicultural Affairs has decided to publish a very helpful "LBGTQQIAAPP Terminology Guide" to assist their confused snowflakes with the very complicated task of determining their own gender.  While the guide may seem fairly thorough, VCU notes that gender "language is constantly evolving, and these definitions are not by any means comprehensive" before warning that "terms of self-identification should not be used to label others without their consent."

As debate rages on in the United States over whether Trump's temporary immigration "ban" is constitutional, according to immigration officials in Manitoba, Canada, many refugees currently in the United States aren't waiting around to hear the Supreme Court's conclusion and are instead braving the blistering cold and fleeing north on foot.  Per Reuters, Manitoba's Welcome Place refugee agency helped 91 claimants between Nov. 1 and Jan. 25 - more than the agency normally sees in a full year.

As politicians around the country continue to work themselves into a frenzy over Trump's January 27th executive order temporarily suspending immigration from seven countries, we thought it might be helpful to take a step back and review some key statistics regarding America's historical refugee admissions.

According to research from the Pew Research Center ("PRC"), since the Refugee Act of 1980 was passed into law roughly 3 million refugees have been resettled in the United States with annual totals fluctuating around flare ups of international crises.
