Violence in Venezuela, South America’s crumbling socialists paradise, is intensifying as street clashes between anti-government protesters and government forces enter their third month. At least 67 people have died since the demonstrations began, including 18-year-old Armando Canizales, who the New York Times described as a “success story of Venezuela’s state-run music program for the poor.”

Actions have consequences. In public policy, it is impossible to say what the consequences will be. There are too many delusions and too much smoke.
Take a policy said to eradicate city rats. Its real purpose is to reward a large political donor who owns a pest control firm. It ends up killing the pigeons.

In the latest bombshell to hit President Trump, Bloomberg reports his administration may have inadvertently taken money from an enemy of the U.S. - but this time it's the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad... via Venezuela.
In a report published Thursday, Bloomberg alleges that Citgo officials were involved in a plot to illegally disguise Syrian crude and sell it at gas stations in the U.S..
