In the late spring of 1720, Sir Isaac Newton decided to sell his stocks.
Newton had been an investor in the South Sea Company, a famous enterprise which effectively commanded a trading monopoly with South America.
The investment had already made Newton a lot of money, he was up more than 100% in a very short time.
After visiting Naples, Fla. last week to survey the damage wrought by Hurricane Irma, President Donald Trump is traveling to his hometown, New York City, Monday for a week of speeches and meetings with foreign leaders during a session of the United Nations General Assembly. The highlight of the trip is, of course, Trump's first speech before the General Assembly, which will take place Tuesday.

Decision Season
With Parliamentary elections looming, more Norwegians than usual are asking themselves the tough questions. It is now apparent that the slump in oil is not a temporary one. What will the country do now? Time for the lottery winner, after receiving the last annuity, to get a job before burning out the savings. Many are looking towards the sea, fishing and exploiting underwater natural resources. Others are looking to blast open the mountains to do the same.
