Following yesterday's German election, which despite Merkel's 4th victory was a rout for the establishment "grand coalition" parties of CDU/CSU and SPD which saw its worst election performance since the 1940s offset by a surge in the ascendant right-wing AfD, there have been numerous analyst reactions to the "sudden reemergence" of populism in Europe, but one we find perhaps the most insightful and useful, comes from Bloomberg macro commentator Mark Cudmore, who writes this morning that for all the concerns, it's not so much Germany as what is about to happen in European peer Spain, where C

First Black Medal Of Honor Recipient's Act of 'Defiance': He Never Let The Flag Touch The Ground

As we reported previously, Sunday afternoon's round of NFL games included players from nearly every team joining the "take a knee" protest during the National Anthem, while many others locked arms in solidarity with players who decided to take a knee, or - in the case of the Pittsburg Steelers - remained in the locker room, and thus weren't visible to the public. Notably, Steeler and ex-Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva seemed to have defied the team decision to opt out of the anthem by waiting in the locker room (with the exception of head coach Mike Tomlin, who stood on the field).

We certainly don't need Donald Trump to remind us that the charade called professional sports is one big commerical exploitation. That alone should be enough reason not to watch...before you even get to this performance.

And why do they play the National Anthem before every game? 

If this clueless moron had the principle and sense to consider that question properly, he would simply walk away from the game. But he doesn't, because in the end it all boils down to show me the money.
