We certainly don't need Donald Trump to remind us that the charade called professional sports is one big commerical exploitation. That alone should be enough reason not to watch...before you even get to this performance.

And why do they play the National Anthem before every game? 

If this clueless moron had the principle and sense to consider that question properly, he would simply walk away from the game. But he doesn't, because in the end it all boils down to show me the money.

Update (10:35 ET): Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has become the first senior Trump administration official to publicly address Trump's feud with the NFL and NBA - the president called for fans to boycott the NFL unless owners fire or discipline players who kneel during the National Anthem - saying the issue wasn't about free speech and that players have first amendment rights when they're off the field.

Having set social media on fire following his withdrawal of Golden State Warriors' NBA super star Stephen Curry's invitation to The White House and for slamming NFL players for kneeling during the National Anthem (and the reactions of the NFL owners), President Trump has responded to the outpouring of abuse for his demands...

If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect....

Update: Trump's comments have elicited some responses from NFL players also...
