Doctors have warned that the 2016 Rio Olympics will spark a “full-blown public health disaster”, due to the ongoing Zika virus emergency in Brazil.  The Zika virus has spread throughout South America since May 2015 and latin America has been officially declared a health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO). Rio de Janeiro has the highest number of suspected cases than any other area, and doctors have warned that the 2016 Olympic Games could create a global health disaster if they go ahead.

The oh-so-progressive NCAA just cannot keep from imposing its morals on everyone, even when their moralizing has nothing at all to do with athletics:

After months of hinting that it would use its financial clout to take a stand against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, the NCAA on Wednesday made it official.

A new book claims that Paralympic gold medalist and convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius may have battered his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp with a cricket bat before shooting her dead and covering the evidence. The “Blade Runner,” the fastest man on no legs, is to be sentenced in June for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp after his initial conviction of culpable homicide was later upgraded by the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa. Metro reports: The court heard how the amputee had fired four hollow point bullets through a toilet door striking his victim in the hip, head and arm.
