Since November 8th, several public companies have unsuspectingly fallen into the cross hairs of Trump tweets sending their stocks gyrating violently while adding or erasing millions of dollars worth of market cap in a matter of seconds.  Here is just a small sample:

Toyota Motor said will build a new plant in Baja, Mexico, to build Corolla cars for U.S. NO WAY! Build plant in U.S. or pay big border tax.

The US is by far the biggest economy in the world. Its financial markets — be it equity, bonds or derivatives markets — are the largest and most liquid. The Greenback is the most important transaction currency. Many currencies in the world — be it the euro, the Chinese renminbi, the British pound or the Swiss franc — have actually been built upon the US dollar.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on his way to the US capital where he will be meet Donald Trump in the White House on Wednesday. “I am going to Washington to have a very important meeting with President Trump… The alliance between Israel and America has always been extremely strong and it is about to get even stronger,” Netanyahu told the media at the airport as he set off on Monday. “President Trump and I see eye-to-eye on the dangers emanating from the region, but also on the opportunities.

Over weekend drinks, dinners, very good lunches and rugby banter I was repeatedly told by my chums with real jobs in Industry, Services and Government how terrible this Trump fellow is turning out. It's terribly liberal of us all to be illiberal about him.

The first face to face meeting between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Trump was seen by many as the most important meeting for Canada in decades. While PM Trudeau is teaming up with so-called 'sexist' Trump to urge policy-makers to remove barriers to increasing competitiveness for women entrepreneurs, as well as tackle issues affecting women in the workforce, we are sure reporters will want to focus on the "epidemic" of refugees crossing into Canada (from US), NAFTA trade tensions, and White House personnel decisions.
