The role presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton played as secretary of state in the 2011 military intervention in Libya is starting to unravel as more than 50 officials from the US, Europe, and Libya speak out. In a two part report for The New York Times many of those directly involved in the mission that overthrew the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, portray Clinton as a catalyst in the decision to go to war.
The US House Foreign Affairs Committee is calling for an international tribunal on Syria having passed a resolution accusing the Syrian government, Russia and Iran of war crimes in Syria. The move on Wednesday comes despite a breakthrough agreement between the US and Russia on a Syrian ceasefire.
Zion Saadon, a 45-year-old Jewish Teacher living in the south of France, in Marseille, is the second Jewish teacher accused of lying to the police. He was arrested for claiming that ISIS militants attacked him in November of 2015, just days after the Paris attacks that left 130 dead. Zion Saadon was insistent on being a victim of rising anti-semitism in France after an overnight hospital stay. The alleged attack had no witnesses and forensic exams proved that Zion Saadon had in fact mutilated his own body with a knife.
Experts are calling on NATO to eject Turkey from its membership over fears that Turkish authorities are deliberately trying to provoke a war with Russia. New York Post writer Benny Anvi warns that NATO’s very existence is under threat due to Turkey’s continual provocations: “Can anyone envision America — or anyone else in the alliance — rushing to Turkey’s aid in a military confrontation with Russia?” Anvi asks.
Robert F Kennedy Jr. has said that most Americans are unaware that Washington aims to overthrow the democratically elected Syrian government. RFK Jr, a US attorney and nephew of the late US President John F Kennedy, wrote that the US decided to remove Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power after he refused to back a Qatari gas pipeline project. Sputnik news reports: The CIA went ahead with this plan after the multi-billion dollar pipeline project first surfaced in 2000, years before the Arab Spring uprising in Syria took place.
