A retired LAPD detective claims in a new documentary that legendary rap artist Tupac ‘2Pac’ Shakur died in a contract killing that was ordered by Grammy Award-winning rapper Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs. Tupac was reaching the heights of his music career in 1996 when he was silenced by an assassin in a drive-by shooting. He was shot in Las Vegas as he drove in a car with his manager Marion (Suge) Knight. His murder has remained unsolved, with occasional rumors of him being seen or heard alive. There have even been reports that Suge Knight paid a retired LAPD cop to help Tupac Shakur fake his own death. International Business Times reports: It was widely viewed at the time as a violent confrontation between coastal rap fiefdoms. Suge Knight ran Death Row Records representing West Coast rappers while Diddy had launched Bad Boy Entertainment on the East Coast. The documentary, Murder Rap, is based on a 2011 book by the same name written by former Los Angeles detective Greg Kading, who headed the Los Angeles Police Department task force investigating the killing.
