A professor who claimed that the Sandy Hook massacre was a staged conspiracy has been fired from his job at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The professor claims that the school shooting which occurred in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012, was a hoax. He was fired for a technicality in his contract, and for not supplying details of his interests in certain internet blogs, or activities not in line with FAU policies. Sun Sentinel reports: The university sent a letter Tuesday to James Tracy, a tenured associate professor of communications, announcing the action. His last day will be Friday, the university said. He was scheduled to teach three classes this semester, and those have been assigned to other instructors. Tracy was first told on Dec. 16 he would be fired, but could request an appeal. “You were advised that you had 10 days in which to respond in writing. You have not responded,” wrote Diane Alperin, vice provost for FAU. But Tracy, who has worked at FAU since 2002, still may be fighting to keep his job, just not through the normal FAU appeals process.
