US President-elect Donald Trump has done a U-turn on his campaign promise to stay out of unnecessary costly wars in the Middle East that destroy countries and remove leaders and is now following Hillary Clinton and advice from neocons to create ‘safe zones’ in Syria. Safe zones in Syria means that the neocons are risking a nuclear confrontation between East and West and are hoping to cut a deal with Russia to control the Middle East while they focus on Iran and China. The only hope for stopping a nuclear confrontation between Russia and the U.S. is for President Putin to be up to scratch in making 21st century New York style deals with his friend and foe Donald Trump. Putin used to run the KGB during the Soviet era and his focus was to counter/attack underhanded western aggression toward Russia. To set up safe zones in Syria is to tell Russia that its alliance with Iran, Assad and Hezbollah is over and for Putin and President Assad of Syria to step aside while western allies focus the ‘war of terror’ on Iran and the East.
